For the third year running, the Norwegian Color Research Laboratory at Gjøvik University College is hosting an international conference in Color Imaging Technology. For two days, 30th of November to 1st of December, the ColorLab is opening its arms to welcome well known researchers, in the field of Color Imaging Technology, from around the world. During the symposium, international, national and local researchers will present their state of the art work within the field. The symposium offers a vibrant atmosphere for interaction between industry and academia; and the two days are arranged as follows:
The first day of the symposium offers a practical view point with special emphasis on the photography and graphic arts industries. A range of practical workshops are organised to serve as an introduction and a discussion forum in the field of color management. Dr. Phil Green from the London College of Communication will start the day by giving a keynote talk on Color Management. Dr. Green is one of the world top scientists in the field of Color Management; and is known to be the person to ask for solutions (see "Ask Phil" on ICC's website www.color.org). Following Dr. Green’s talk, a number of talks, poster presentations and tutorial session are scheduled.
On Thursday the first of December, some of the best academics in the field of color imaging are invited to share their knowledge and insight with the participants, including Dr. Alessandro Rizzi from Milan University, Professor Fritz Albregtsen from The University of Oslo, and Professor Graham Finlayson from the University of East Anglia, U.K. They will give invited talks of 45 minutes each in topics such as: Color Constancy, Color Vision, Texture Analysis and Gamut Mapping. PhD students from HIG will also present their research projects.
