Call for papers - GCIS2007
Gjøvik Color Imaging Symposium 2007 will take place in Gjøvik, Norway, on June 14 and 15, 2007. It is the fourth time that the Norwegian Color Research Laboratory at Gjøvik University College organizes this event. We plan a rich program of tutorials, workshops, invited talks, demonstrations, and research presentations, and hope to bring together researchers, practitioners, and students from all over Europe (and the rest of the world), around a theme of common interest, namely color imaging.
To make this a memorable event, we rely on your contributions. Therefore we issue a call for papers in two categories:
- Regular extended abstracts, 1500-2500 words, including figures and references. Original research including results. Revised versions of the accepted abstracts will published in the conference proceedings.
- Short student abstracts, 300-500 words. Work-in progress accepted, from master and PhD students. Abstracts will only be distributed at the conference, not published, so as not to prevent further publication in other conferences or journals. These papers will be presented in a special session, in which the students will receive thorough feedback from a panel of experts, on all aspects of their contribution. A limited number of students might be offered a travel grant and inclusion in the proceedings.
Contributions are sought in all fields of color imaging, but particularly within the following categories:
- Color in the graphic arts
- Motion imaging
- Display & soft proofing
- Color matching and color appearance
- Image quality and color image difference
- Multispectral color imaging
- Spatial color imaging and image processing
Abstracts should be submitted before April 20th, to gcis@hig.no, as a PDF file. In the cover letter/email, please indicate clearly which abstract category you aim for. Students should indicate their student status/affiliation, as well as providing reference to their academic supervisor. Include a max 50 word bio.
Selected contributions to our symposium will be invited to submit papers to a special issue/section of Color Research & Application, one of the premier scientific journals in our field!
