Colorlab Workshop #4/2010: Investigating Visual Issues in Image Processing using EEG

The Norwegian Color Research Laboratory,  Gjøvik University College (GUC)  is organizing a workshop on "Investigating Visual Issues in Image Processing using EEG" at  Gjøvik University College (GUC)  in room G302, on Friday November 26th.

The workshop is free of charge, but participants are asked to register before November 19th, by email to Nan Bjerkvoll.

Motivation

Brain scan devices are becoming more and more portable and cheap and thus they are leaving the medical research laboratories, and starting to be used in very different tasks. Brain Computer Interaction is a novel interesting emerging research field. Electroencephalography (EEG) devices are used to extract brain activity signals and to correlate them to various tasks of the user. In this way spontaneous brain activity can be used to command interfaces or to activate tools. Interfacing with activities connected with vision is also possible and new approaches to classic imaging techniques are starting to be developed. The aim of this workshop is to present the possibilities of these devices and techniques and to discuss recent developed imaging research and methods, and their multidisciplinary connection with other scientific fields.
